Frequently Asked Questions

What if the reed is damaged in shipping?

I play each reed before I send it out, but accidents can happen in shipping. If any reeds are damaged in shipping, please notify me within 24 hours of receipt of item along with sending me a picture of the broken reed in the packaging material. I can provide either a full refund or a replacement reed.
**If you experience more than 2 accidents during shipping, I can no longer provide you reeds, but will gladly help you find a local source to purchase reeds from to avoid more shipping issues.

Care instructions

Remember to always soak each reed in warm water! Always store in a reed case specifically for oboe reeds. Putting cork grease on the cork of the reed will help it fit into the oboe better and keep the cork from chipping. When taking a reed out of the oboe, be careful to firmly grasp the cork or thread and pull out in a twisting motion. Many reeds can be accidentally damaged if your hand slips and touches the cane. *The tip is the most delicate part of the reed*

What if my reed breaks after I take it out of the packaging?

Once you take the reed out of the packaging, I am no longer responsible for the reed. Unfortunately, reeds cannot be exchanged or returned for this reason. Always be very careful while removing the reed from the packaging material. Never grab the cane; always hold onto the cork. "Reed" my care instructions to prevent any damage from ruining your reed! ;)

Why does one reed look different from the other I ordered from you before?

Due to the nature of cane and organic matter, every reed needs something a little different to make it work! Some may be slightly longer or shorter, thicker or thinner depending on the piece of cane. If you really preferred one reed you got from me and not the other, let me know! Maybe there is something I can do for you specifically that will keep you happy with all your future reeds!
